The founder, known as “The Chief,” was on a grueling army deployment when he reached for a bag of store-bought jerky, only to be met with a soggy, flavorless mush. This experience ignited a mission to create real, high-quality beef jerky. Drawing on his upbringing on a cattle farm, The Chief began experimenting with recipes, using his army mates as his first taste-testers. His dedication to crafting the perfect jerky, one with a satisfyingly tough chew and an explosion of flavor, quickly earned him his moniker and laid the foundation for the brand.

The Original Beef Chief is a proudly Australian-made and veteran-owned business that stands in stark opposition to mass-produced, “candy jerky.” The philosophy is simple: use the best ingredients to create a product with authentic texture and taste. Every batch is made from 100% grass-fed Australian beef, which is marinated for two days to ensure the flavors penetrate deep into the meat. The jerky is then slow-dried to achieve its signature tough and chewy consistency, a texture that rewards a proper chew with an intensifying flavor experience.
